Trondheim Soloists
At the conference dinner on September 28. we are proud to present again Trondheimsolistene - Trondheim Soloists, for our guests. They were visiting us at IO 08, and we are very glad to say they will be present for us their latest recordings which includes music by the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg and Scandinavian folk music at this years' IO conference!
Trondheim Soloists is an international recognized ensamble from Trondheim, playing chamber music. The ensamble was established in 1988 by violinist Bjarne Fiskum, for young, talented musicians at the Music Conservatory in Trondheim. Cellist Øyvind Gimse is Artistic Director.
The Orchestra won a Norwegian Music Award, Spellemannprisen, in 2006 for the album: Mozart: Violin Concertos (2L), with Violinist Marianne Thorsen. In 2008 they were nominated to three Grammy awards: Read more about it here.
TrondheimSolistene has been on several Tours with Anne-Sophie Mutter, and in 2008 they recordes their second album together, In tempus praesens (Deutsche Grammophon). Their latest triumph is the “In Folk Style” tour in China, May/June 2010.
