Jon holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of Oslo in 1982. He has since then been with the Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) in Halden, and from 2001 he has been a Division Head within the sector for Man-Technology-Organisation at IFE.

IFE operates mainly within the nuclear and petroleum domains. Jon is heading the Operation Centres division, addressing the interplay of Man - Technology – Organisation and Human Factors in a control room or operation centre setting. He is responsible for IFE’s world-leading simulation-based man-machine laboratories, and has experience from numerous control room-related projects for the nuclear and petroleum domains. He has since 2006 been a Program manager at the Centre for Integrated Operations hosted by NTNU, Sintef and IFE.
